How to get to Torres del Paine | are you planning your trip to Torres del Paine national park in Chilean Patagonia and wondering what's the best way to get to it? Well, I have the answers! | torres del paine national park photography

Torres del Paine entrance fees & tickets: how it works [2025/26]

Buying a ticket to Torres del Paine used to be simple: show up, pay at the gate, walk in. Not anymore. Since the 2025/26 season, tickets are sold online, per sector, with time slots – and if you show up without one, you may simply not get in. We’ve untangled the system so you don’t have to.

All prices and rules below were checked in August 2026 and apply to the 2025/26 season (rates valid through December 2026). Rules in Patagonia change often – always double-check while booking.

The short version

1. Buy your ticket online at pasesparques.cl (the official CONAF portal) at least 24 hours before entering the park.
2. Pick the right ticket type for your plans – Full Day, Base Torres, W Circuit, or Paine/O Circuit.
3. Download the PDF with the QR code – rangers scan it at the entrance, and mobile signal in the park is not something to rely on.
4. Book your refugios and campsites separately – the park ticket does NOT include accommodation.

How much does the entrance cost?

For the 2025/26 season, a non-Chilean adult pays CLP 34,000 (~US$35) for a visit of up to 3 days and CLP 48,500 (~US$50) for longer, multi-day stays (that’s your W and O trek option). Ages 12–17 pay CLP 17,400 for short visits, and children under 12 enter free, as do visitors with disabilities.

Tickets are non-refundable and can’t be modified after purchase – the only exception is a full park closure. So triple-check your dates before paying.

Ticket types: pick the right sector

This is the part that trips people up. Since the 2025/26 season, tickets are sectoral:

Full Day – the classic day visit: driving the vehicular circuit, viewpoints, short walks.
Base Torres – the famous day hike to the towers, now with an assigned time slot.
W Circuit – the multi-day W trek (see our day-by-day W trek guide).
Paine / O Circuit – full access for the big loop.

Booked a guided tour or activity? Bus travellers and anyone with contracted services (regular buses, excursions, navigations) must buy online in advance – only visitors arriving in private vehicles can use the self-service totems at the Serrano and Laguna Amarga entrances. The totems take cards, but the process is slow; we wouldn’t gamble a trekking start on it.

Step by step: buying your ticket

1. Go to pasesparques.cl and find Parque Nacional Torres del Paine.
2. Choose your ticket type and dates – for Base Torres, also your time slot.
3. Pay by card (the site takes international cards and shows prices in several currencies).
4. Download and save the PDF – ideally print it too. The QR code is what gets scanned at the gate.

Doing the treks? Sort your beds before the park ticket if you can – Las Torres Patagonia (Central, Chileno, Cuernos, Francés, Serón) and Vertice (Paine Grande, Grey, Dickson, Los Perros) both sell out months ahead for December–February. The free CONAF campsites Italiano and Paso remain closed for overnight stays. Our refugios & campsites guide covers the whole booking dance.

When to sort all this out

For high season (December–February): refugios 3–6 months ahead, park tickets as soon as your dates are fixed, and hotels around the park early as well. Shoulder season (October–November, March–April) is more forgiving, but Base Torres slots still fill on good-weather days. And before you go, check how to actually get to the park – the logistics deserve their own planning session.
